I appreciate this post with its reflection on and clarity about what you have been focusing on in the last 18 months. Your personal and professional goals and dedication to those is obvious to me and it has also given you clarity on what to pursue and what choices to make. We have benefited from that enormously and I thank you for that. You know I’m a huge supporter but I am also a wife and mother and know that the wholeness of life means that you are working hard to bring us all the resources and experiences that you do. Again, I thank you for that. I believe that your work is worth every cent and I am glad you are acknowledging your expertise, skill and commitment. Well done, my friend.

Oh Cate, that really was such a treat to read: thank you so, so much for helping me to weave my way toward more clarity, bit by bit. This really feels like such a shared endeavor - between myself, my family, and also all of you dear ones - and I'm just a bit stunned sometimes as I really sit with that. Thank you, thank you, thank you dear friend.

I sent you an email about my parcel arriving but now Iris and I have had weather adventures like you. Our region is in a catastrophic fire situation, a state of emergency has been declared and last night I had to help evacuate my daughter and the grandchildren as there was a bushfire in their street. The flames were right next to the house and it was quite scary but we got out. Ice creams at the pool an hour down the road were therapeutic to all!

Goodness!! For all the challenges of flooding, I can't imagine the stress of having fires spreading toward your homes. Growing up, I lived in a prairie state that was (and is) prone to wildfire...I would see the aftermath of fires in the landscape as we drove down the highway, but never dealt with it coming remotely close to us. Did your daughter's house end up faring alright?

I'm SO GLAD to think of you all enjoying some ice creams at the pool!! (Email forthcoming...xoxo)

The emergency crews were amazing. So many crews from the various small country towns arrived and it was eventually under control. The houses were all saved but Iris is now very edgy which is understandable. We have always followed the fires in the US as they too are devastating.

I think little ones - like Iris and Fern - tend to really soak up all of the things they're witnessing, so I imagine dear Iris would definitely be edgy after all that. I hope that the season calms down for you all soon, and that you all stay safe and sound!

You mentioned the amazing emergency crews - something that really inspired me during this last round of flooding was a new-to-me friend who was traveling around the county with her family and beverages, snacks, etc. to drop off for the crews. They also dropped off whole meals for so many affected by the flooding, including us! They were like friendly fairies, zipping around cheering folks up.
