The leafless forests slowly yield
To the thick-driving snow. A little while
And night shall darken down. In shouting file
The woodmen’s carts go by me homeward-wheeled,
Past the thin fading stubbles, half concealed,
Now golden-gray, sowed softly through with snow,
Where the last ploughman follows still his row,
Turning black furrows through the whitening field.
Far off the village lamps begin to gleam,
Fast drives the snow, and no man comes this way;
The hills grow wintry white, and bleak winds moan
About the naked uplands. I alone
Am neither sad, nor shelterless, nor gray,
Wrapped round with thought, content to watch and dream.Archibald Lampman, “In November” (19th c.)

The Autumn edition of the seasonal founder box was mailed out in October, and I hope it’s bringing lots of delight your way! (If you’d like to learn more about the founding membership, please hop over here - November 15 will be the closing date for Autumn founder boxes).
A printable version of this month’s Almanac - including prompts for celebration, dip-pen illustrations, and a coordinated coloring sheet - is available in the Scriptorium!
You can also find this list of upcoming events posted in the Village Green.
This month, as we settle into winter, I’m starting a new pattern for our Almanac resources - an at-a-glance calendar that you can print out, in the hopes of helping us all integrate some of these holy days and traditions more seamlessly into our already-full days. (I’m thinking ahead as I try to set boundaries around Advent, holding it as a preparatory season instead of a time that’s chock-full of action!)
Filled with whimsical hand-drawn dip pen illustrations and accompanied by some prompts to consider as you feast and fast, it’s a movement toward the simplicity I feel like I need to draw closer to this winter…and maybe you feel the same?

The November Almanac includes:
November calendar page with a selection of holy days & prompts, HF live gatherings, and illustrations
Coloring page featuring my hand-drawn illustrations of November feast emblems
Print out these goodies (I recommend card-stock for the calendar and regular paper for the coloring page), and see how you can integrate the featured holidays into your existing plans!
Available in the Scriptorium for paid subscribers:
November brings with it the transition from fall to winter, as well as the end of one liturgical year and the beginning of a new one. As we prepare to close out Ordinary Time II and enter Advent, let’s dive into the pivotal feast of Andermas: the Feast of St. Andrew the Apostle…the tipping point between seasons and years!
Reflections, history, folk traditions, art, and more will be available the second half of November
Paid members will receive a printable cover page and booklet for their liturgical year binders, as well as a peek into how our liturgical living group celebrates this holiday
As you can probably tell, I’m feeling convicted to be mindful of our pace in this coming Advent season - and, more than ever, I’m noticing the beautiful preparatory offerings in the calendar’s November traditions…feasts that help to align us toward a new year in Christ by calling us to go deeper into our spiritual disciplines and our community involvement.
How does this denouement of Ordinary Time feel for you, my friends?
I’m delighted to be on the cusp of starting another liturgical year alongside you all! Your incredible support allows me to continue deepening and expanding the conversations & resources here, and I’m so very grateful for that opportunity.
Pax et bonum,
Kristin

What a beautiful calendar idea! I can definitely see this as a wall calendar with your beautiful color art! 😉
I am already telling myself to not start doing to much or to overstretch in Advent. I am going to be reading carefully through The Art of Living in Season by Sylvie Vanhoozer from Advent. Hopefully, I can see you all again as you chat with Grace.
